This is the only Ciaté nail polish I own and I don't love it but I don't hate it either. In the bottle, this shade (Big Yellow Taxi 074) looks amazing and don't get me wrong it also looks gorgeous on the nails too. But I think it's just a bit too bright for me. The consistency of the polish is pretty thick which almost made it difficult to apply. However, at the same time I do like how opaque it is as this means you only have to apply one or two coats.
The thing I love most about these polishes is the packaging, the shape of the bottle and the tall handle for the brush. I am tempted to try some other shades that I might get more wear out of or maybe try a paler yellow, but the £9 price tag is what's holding me back. I could get two nail polishes from brands that I love for that price. Hmmm it's a difficult one! What do you think, are any of you fans of the Ciaté Paint Pots? Should I try one in more of an everyday shade ?

I've never heard of this make before but I personally really like the colour. I love pastel colours on nails so this'd be perfect for me! I can't believe they're £9 a bottle though, it wouldn't make me buy it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe you should buy a colour that you know you'll like. I'd probably choose a red because it's my favourite and I wear a lot of red of my nails usually.
It'd be great to hear if you do! Much love, Sarah x

It's quite a bright yellow! Great for summer though. Red is such a good idea, that's a colour that I wear all the time too and never get bored of. I'll let you know if I do :) Thanks xx
DeleteYeah it is, but still very lovely. Maybe you'll get more use out of it when summer arrives (hopefully anyway!)
DeleteYeah red must be every girls favourite colour! Yeah definitely do, Sarah x

let me know if you do
It's super for spring. I haven't tried anything from Ciaté, though. :-) x
ReplyDeleteDid you get this in Glossybox? They sent me the pink one before and I really hated it. It took at least 3 coats to get a decent colour out of it!
ReplyDeleteYep! And even when it was brand new it was horrible to apply. Thought i'd give it another try but still not convinced. Maybe the formula just isn't that great then! I guess it's a good job we didn't have to pay the full price for them.
DeleteThe perfect colour for spring!

The packaging is too cute and it looks great in the photo. Pity it's not what was expected. Maybe it'l be nice to just sit out in your room :)

It's a pretty colour, whilst I've never tried anything from Ciate, I know what you mean about some varnishes being too bright and applying a bit gloopily! I tend to stick to Rimmel, they are always cheap and cheerful! x
