A Spring Like Saturday

Wearing mostly Primark today...

Jeggings- ASDA Wonderfit
Jumper- Primark
Jacket/ Coat- Primark
Shoes- Primark
Necklace- H&M
Sunglasses- Rayban Wayfarer

What lovely weather we are having in England! The sudden change in temperature makes it difficult to know what to wear. I decided to go for a light coat and a jumper so that I could get away with just wearing the jumper when I got too hot.  Even though it's sunny I don't think I could walk around in short sleeves just yet. I went to Shoreditch in London today to visit the new cat cafe 'Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium' which was lovely. After chilling with the cats this morning I then explored Brick Lane and took a look at Spitalfields Market.  So, here's my comfy outfit for a day out in London.

Spring & Summer: Style Picks

When it comes to fashion I don't really know what i'm talking about. I guess I do follow trends but I also tend to just wear things that I like. Anyway, i've bought a few new pieces to add to my wardrobe for spring and summer so thought I would share them with you!

The Ray Ban Wayfarers
I can't recommend these sunglasses enough! I got them for my eighteenth birthday and I know that they will last for years to come. They also go with everything.

The Topshop Flatforms
I posted about these recently so won't talk about them too much. They are great because they make any casual outfit look a bit more dressed up.

The H&M Blouse from their Conscious Collection
I really like this collection but this is the only piece I own from it. This one in particular is perfect for this time of year. The price was also amazing at £9.99 which is great because it looks a lot more expensive than it was. It buttons right up to the top but can just about be worn with the top button undone.

The H&M Trousers
I picked these up in the sale a couple of weeks ago. They were half price so ended being about £8 which is amazing for trousers. So amazing in fact that I also got a printed pair too. I usually only wear jeans or jeggings but like the smarter look of these trousers.

Have you bought any new pieces for spring and summer?

Spring Things: Trifle

It was my Mum’s birthday a couple of weeks ago so I bought her this trifle bowl. She immediately wanted to use it so we dug out Lorraine Pascale’s Home Cooking Made Easy and got whisking. The recipes in this book are delicious and she really does make it seem easy!

Glass trifle bowl- Next Home, £14

I love how you can see the pattern that we made with the strawberries through the side of the bowl and the layers of sponge, cream and custard. It shows off all the hard work that went into making it look pretty as well as taste amazing.

This would be such a lovely pudding to make for summer parties and you could try any variation by adding different types of fruit or even a layer of jelly at the bottom. It's a great pudding all round because there is no cooking required so anyone could make it...give it a try!

Spring Things: Beauty Picks

This is my first post so here goes, I hope you like it!

It’s finally beginning to feel like spring, so I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of my favourite spring appropriate beauty products.

Left to right: Revlon Lip Butter £7.99, L'Oreal Stain Splash £7.99, YSL Rouge Pur Couture £23.00

Firstly, I have chosen three lip products that I have been reaching for a lot lately. Each one has a different formulation and overall look. On the left we have a Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in the shade Tutti Frutti (015) which is a gorgeous bright orange when applied. I love the formulation of this product because it gives quite a glossy finish as well as a pop of colour, making it perfect for spring. I have a few of these in my collection and I’m sure that I will be purchasing some of the new shades. I suffer from dry lips and love just how moisturising these are! Overall probably my favourite lip product to use throughout spring and summer.

In the centre is a new Glamshine Stain Splash from L’Oreal in the shade Romy (102). When they say stain they are not kidding, this stuff stays on your lips for hours. The shade that I have is a really pretty natural pink with a hint of shimmer and I can see myself wearing it a lot during the daytime.

The product on the right is a YSL Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre lipstick in the shade 109. When on the lips this product is a peachy pink with a very subtle hint of gold glimmer. The gold doesn’t show up too much on my lips, which is why I like it and the formulation is creamy but not too thick. This is probably my least favourite product out of the three as it doesn’t seem to last very long on my lips!  However, the packaging is beautiful and it’s a nice lipstick to carry in my handbag.

Left to right: No7 Blush Tint Powder £8.00, Maybelline Color Tattoo £4.99

Next up are two of my favourite products for my face. The first is a No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in the shade Cool Pink. This is a recent purchase but since I bought it I have worn it every day. I think that bright pink is great for spring and could be used on any skin tone. It’s quite bright for a blusher but you can build it up how you want it on your own cheeks.

Another spring favourite is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in the shade Pink Gold (65). I am also planning on getting my hands on a few more shades as I am really enjoying using this eye shadow as a base. The staying power is amazing and it works great alone but also underneath powder eye shadows as a primer.

What would your spring beauty essentials be?
